Sustainability at Mantra 2 Bond Street

Here at Mantra 2 Bond Street we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.

Dry Amenities

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment.

We understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. By removing single-use plastic amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint. Instead, guests can request dry amenities by calling room service or visiting our friendly team at reception.

Large Amenities

As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. This commitment aligns with our dedication to environmental stewardship and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability in all aspects of our hotel.

Local produce

Mantra 2 Bond Street is committed to using local produce in our Restaurant, Georgie wine bar. All produce is sourced locally and from NSW which supports our local farmers and reduces the carbon footprint for food deliveries. We source a lot of organic and seasonal produce from our suppliers all year round.

Recycling

At Mantra 2 Bond Street, all hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill.  In addition, we have taken a number of steps to further reduce water and embrace a circular system.

Brita water station:

At Mantra 2 Bond Street, we are dedicated to being more sustainable for our planet. As part of this effort, we have partnered with BRITA Water to offer pure and fresh-tasting water to our guests.

We ask all out guests to take part with us in reducing the single-use plastic waste by refilling your reusable water bottle with Brita filtered water during your stay with us. Together, we can make a positive impact on the environment!

Dream Green bedding range:

We have partnered with Vendella which offers Dream Green bedding range. This is an ingenious 3-step recycling process that transforms plastic bottles into a microfibre, which is then used in their luxury Dream Green bedding range. First plastic bottles are sterilised before being then reduced into small flakes. These flakes are then spun into a yarn, which is transformed into a premium microfibre. The final result is a high loft and luxurious softness that guests rave over. It’s an absolute win-win.

Through this initiative, they have recycled over two million plastic bottles, keeping them from entering landfills and waterways – till date Mantra 2 Bond Street have contributed in recycling 13,838 bottles.
